Candle Aftercare Guide

Thank you for choosing Wizards Flame candles! To ensure the best performance and safety of your coconut and rapeseed wax candles with crackle wood wicks, follow these aftercare instructions:

1. Initial Burn:

  • Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle for the first time, trim the wood wick to approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) in length.

  • Burn Time: Allow the candle to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the jar. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn in future uses.

2. Subsequent Burns:

  • Trimming the Wick: If the wick tip is black or doesn't seem to be lighting straight away give the wick a tiny trim and it will burn as expected. Trimming the wick helps maintain a clean and steady burn while minimizing soot and uneven burning.

  • Burn Time: For each subsequent burn, allow the candle to burn long enough to create a full wax pool, but avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time. Excessive burning can cause overheating and may lead to cracking of the glass jar.

3. Safety Precautions:

  • Never Leave Unattended: Always burn candles within sight and away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets.

  • Extinguish Properly: Use a snuffer or blow out the candle. This helps prevent smoke and preserves the scent for your next use.

  • Safety with Hot Wax: Avoid touching or moving the candle while the wax is liquid as the glass jar may become hot. Allow the candle to cool before handling.

4. Maintaining Your Candle:

  • Keep It Clean: Periodically remove any debris or soot from the wax pool using a wick dipper or cotton swab when the wax is solidified.

  • Storage: When not in use, store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its quality and scent.

5. Reusing Your Jar:

  • Once your candle has burned to its end, repurpose the glass jar for various uses like storing small items, succulents, or creating DIY candles.

6. Environmental Considerations:

  • Our candles are made from natural, sustainable ingredients. Please recycle or upcycle the glass jar to reduce environmental impact.
